About GNSRL

Who We Are

Building knowledge for human-technology futures

GenNeuroSociety Research Lab (GNSRL) operates under the Interdisciplinary Research Foundation (India) as an independent interdisciplinary research initiative dedicated to studying how emerging technologies reshape human cognition, behaviour, identity, health, and social systems.

As advances in neurotechnology, artificial intelligence, biosensing systems, robotics, and bio-digital infrastructures increasingly intersect with everyday life, the boundaries between human and technological systems are becoming more deeply integrated. GNSRL examines these transformations through a multidisciplinary lens, bringing together perspectives from neuroscience, engineering, law, psychology, ethics, data science, and the life sciences.

Our work focuses on understanding the societal, technological, and governance challenges emerging from this evolving landscape. Through research, policy analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration, GNSRL aims to contribute to responsible innovation that protects human autonomy, cognitive health, and fundamental rights while enabling scientific and technological progress.

Direction

Vision and Mission

Vision

Vision

To advance a future where emerging technologies strengthen human cognition, autonomy, well-being, and societal resilience.

GNSRL envisions a world in which neurotechnology, artificial intelligence, biosensing systems, and other emerging technologies evolve in ways that respect human dignity and protect cognitive liberty.

Through multidisciplinary research and responsible governance frameworks, we aim to shape technological progress that remains aligned with fundamental human values.

Mission

Mission

To conduct interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research on the evolving relationship between humans and emerging technologies, and to develop frameworks that guide responsible innovation.

GNSRL brings together perspectives from neuroscience, engineering, artificial intelligence, law, psychology, ethics, and life sciences to examine how emerging technologies influence cognition, behaviour, identity, and social systems.

Through research, collaboration, and policy engagement, the lab generates knowledge and governance approaches that enable technological progress while safeguarding autonomy, cognitive health, and digital rights.

Institutional Framework

Institutional Affiliation

GenNeuroSociety Research Lab (GNSRL) operates under the Interdisciplinary Research Foundation (India), an independent organisation established to support interdisciplinary inquiry across science, technology, society, and public policy. The Foundation provides the institutional framework through which GNSRL conducts research, develops collaborative programmes, and engages with global academic and policy communities.

Within this structure, GNSRL brings together researchers, technologists, legal scholars, and practitioners to examine the societal, ethical, and governance implications of emerging technologies, particularly in areas such as neurotechnology, artificial intelligence, biosensing, and digital cognition. The lab aims to foster dialogue between technical innovation and responsible governance by producing interdisciplinary research, facilitating collaborations with universities and industry, and contributing to evidence-based policy discussions.
